Lady our rescued Saluki Dog

Lady our rescued Saluki Dog

(South Wales GB)

My wife and i are very lucky to be the owner of a Saluki dog. We lost our first dog, a cross breed mungrel bitch called Bonnie, to a heart problem some 4 years ago so we found another rescue dog (molly) from the local dog rescue centre in cardiff south wales GB.

As we both were working at the time we decided to get her a companion to keep her company but my wife wanted a puppy. We hunted high and low but no luck until we went back to the where we got molly the rescue dog.

We just got in a play pen where these puppies were playing around so asked if we could have one. At first they said no but as we had molly with us they let us have one.

Both of us had never seen puppies like these. The kennel maid said they were Salukis dumped at a factory in cardiff but as they were only weeks old we had to wait some 4 weeks for the puppies to be ready.

So we chose a lovely bitch with a broken tail from the litter of 3 bitches and 5 dogs. She was the runt of the litter. Also, she had the telltail long hair on her ears tail and legs.

That was four years ago. After much fact finding on web sights we found out how lucky we were to find this puppy. This is one hell of a dog. Loyal smart loving good looking good company for us as well as for molly.

We have never looked back. She does have some bad habits but more good than bad.

I hope you liked my little story about how we become a Saluki owner. Most of the other pups went to good homes but not all, but all doing fine now. The last time we visited the dogs home they told us this.

PS, Lady is now 4 years old and is a Black and White Feathered type Saluki.
