The American Kennel Club® (AKC) celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2009 and tracks registration statistics on purebred dogs. Three new dog breeds were added to the AKC breeds list in 2010, including the Leonberger, the Cane Corso and the Icelandic Shepdog.
